I loved the book, seriously, until I got to the part about Rafa's family's background.At first I was like: a Hispanic conservative Republican, OK, I'll go along with that - esplain, Lucy.Then I read that Rafa's Mom was of Mexican heritage. OK.Then when I read that Rafa's parents were a Mexican mother that grew up in Chicago and his father is a Miami born son or Puerto Rican IMMIGRANTS????Oh, no!!!! No, no, no - NO!Puerto Ricans are Americans. You can't emigrate from Puerto Rico to the MAINLAND. Like you can't 'emigrate' from New York to Florida. THEY ARE THE SAME COUNTRY!My parents were immigrants, from Cuba to Florida. It would have been more believable in the book if the parents had been Cuban, or Mexican, or... this is a fatal flaw in the book as it is part and parcel of the MCs charater.Too bad, it was a nice story til then.
